As the Roller Coaster season is coming to a close, I decided to get one last trip in at Six Flags Great Adventure to renew my season pass and go on a few coasters. The park was not crowded at all, especially for one of the park's last few days of operation for the year. After renewing my pass, I decided to take a spin on Green Lantern.
For some reason, Green Lantern was running amazing. It was fast-paced, smooth, and my legs surprisingly didn't feel weird from the g-forces. It was by far my best ride on this B&M stand up coaster. With only a 30 minute wait, I decided to go for third row, and was surprised to find some great airtime, and the trims on the mid-course break run weren't even on.
After Green Lantern, I walked over to Kingda Ka, which I hadn't been on in over a year. The wait was an hour, but it was my last chance to ride this season and I took it. Surprisingly, the rows with the shortest lines were the front, second, and third rows since everyone was crowding around the middle rows. Since there were only two people waiting for front row and a huge crowd waiting for the middle, I headed straight to the front row line. Kingda Ka was running incredibly as well. The launch feels completely out of control, and whatever refurbishment they made to the dark blue train worked because it was the smoothest Kingda Ka ride I ever had. Although this ride is over in a matter of seconds, it is still incredible. The launch is completely insane and the downward spiral is so much fun. Although it doesn't make my top three for best in the park, it is right behind Nitro at four.
Unfortunately, I had plans for later on in the day, so we left only being able to ride two coasters. However, both rides were incredible and we had an excellent time.
